Winnie was born and raised in Calgary, and from a young age had a deep passion for baking. At the age of 14, she began completing her journeyman’s for baking, and later on, graduated from SAIT with Honors from the Baking & Pastry Arts Program. Winnie then moved and worked in Paris, France for a year, furthering her classical French pastry training. She has since competed in various competitions, and won many awards in the baking industry for her work, including the 2010 World Skills Competition of Alberta, placing Silver in the Provincial Baking Trades category.
Winnie has had some amazing opportunities throughout her career, creating edible works of art for Prince William & Princess Kate, the NHL Hockey teams, Elizabeth Arden, Hayley Wickenheiser, and investors of Fairmont Hotels. Over time, she became more involved in the management side of things in the kitchen, and has since developed over 15 years of customer-focused management skills and experience. From Bliss Cupcakes, Eau Claire Sheraton Suites, Purdy’s Chocolates, Pandora Jeweler, and Tissot Watches, Winnie then stumbled upon an opportunity in Dentistry in 2019. She is a firm believer of always evolving and learning, and constantly challenging herself, thus recently accepted an opportunity in the Veterinary world and joined McKnight as their Client Care Manager.
During her spare time, Winnie sells dumplings at her friend’s food truck, loves rafting and hiking, and is currently getting certified to be a tattoo artist. She finds immense joy in her 2 beautiful children and their little baby boa constrictor, Ruby.
