Ashley

Surgical Coordinator

Ashley was born and raised in Calgary and has had a passion for helping animals since she rescued her first family dog when she was a young girl. In 2015, Ashley enrolled in the Olds College VMR program (Veterinary Medical Receptionist program) and graduated in the spring of 2016. She then completed her practicum at the Calgary Humane Society and had a fun-filled summer there helping all kinds of animals in the admissions and adoptions department.

In the fall of 2017, Ashley decided to be more involved in animal emergency services in order to help as many animals as possible. She worked at a clinic in Okotoks as a receptionist for 3 years and later became their Surgical Coordinator.  Ashley recently joined the McKnight team as their Surgical Coordinator, working directly with Dr.Remedios.

Aside from her work, Ashley has had a multitude of different species of animals under her care, from dogs, birds, rabbits, toads and fish throughout her life. She currently is a fur mom to Rosco, (a big German Shepherd) and Smudge (a French bulldog who is deaf). Ashley’s goal in life is to help as many animals as she can in any way that she’s capable of. She finds time to relax by cuddling her fur-babies at home, loves spending time with her big chaotic family, and enjoys playing recreational volleyball
